Christmas Decorating Done Right

Christmas is almost here again, and soon everyone will be decorating their houses and businesses to express their holiday cheer. Christmas decorating can be a daunting task for some, and a lot of people don't have any clue how they should decorate, especially if it's their first time decorating for Christmas. There's the roof, stairs, living room, bathrooms, front lawn, and a whole bunch of other places that you'll want to make alive for the Christmas season. I'm going to give you some good tips and ideas for Christmas decorating, and hopefully show you a few new things that you never thought of before.

Decorated stairways at Christmas can be a lot of fun. The most popular stairway decoration for Christmas is usually garland, which will make your stairway sparkle and give off a radiant sort of warmth to everyone who comes across it. Most people put their garland on their banister, which I think is a good idea (any other place, besides the railing, would probably just get in the way of things). For a more original approach to Christmas decorating I suggest putting a wreath on the horizontal rails that most stairways have, and putting some potted plants on the side of the staircase. You could get holly, mistletoe, topiaries, small cedar trees, or the most famous Christmas plant - poinsettias.

Putting mistletoe above your front door is a long-valued tradition too. It's widely known all over the world and you never know, maybe someone special will walk under it the same time as you do and that moment could change your life forever (hope for the best!). Decorating everything with bows is a very feasible option as well. You could tie them to the backs of chairs, stair railings, candlesticks, or my favorite - doorknobs. Hanging a wreath on your front door is also a widely known sign of neighborly love and tradition. I do it every Christmas.

Finally, and last but not least, there's that beloved green thing that most of us put in our living room. The Christmas tree. There's no telling what all you can do to the family Christmas tree. You can hang ornaments, lace it with garland, decorate it with multi-colored lights, and put a star or angel on the top of the tree, making it energize the entire house and making your entire family feel the Christmas spirit we've all come to love. The possibilities are endless, and you'll be decorating your tree for hours.

Christmas decorating is one of the many things that we all enjoy participating in. Sometimes we just need different ideas and tips to aid in our decorating frenzy for the holiday season...be it stairway decorating, general house decorating, or decorating our biggest Christmas tradition, the tree. Pretty soon we'll all be decorating for Christmas and when that special day comes we'll be ready to bask in the warmth and glory of the Christmas spirit.
